Look at all these left hooks and left jabs as the Democrats fight one another now over the scope of health care reform! Slap, slap. What do you call a left winger fighting a far-left winger? A socialist fighting a communist.
Of course this spat means it is all the Republican's fault, according to Obama! Those dastardly Republicans are the reason the independents have stampeded away from him and now only a minority of Americans have confidence in his ability to lead the nation. When he reads that 55% disapprove of how he mismanaged the economy, he will opine, "Alas, tis the Republicans to blame!"
It could not possibly be because Obama quadrupled the federal deficit in 200 days! How many husbands and wives out there are saying, "Gosh honey, times are tough! Lets' go quadruple our debt!" I would think Obama's idea of driving us deeper into national debt did not resonate well with Joe Sixpack. So his plan is to make it worse with nationalized healthcare! I can't imagine why the folks aren't saying, "Yeah, yeah, let's spend our way out of debt." That always works great, huh?
Poll averaging shows 52% still approve of Obama overall, and 42% disapprove. That leaves 10% undecided, meaning there are not many folks who have not yet made up their mind. And they are trending toward those disapproving. Wow, what a unifier Obama has turned out to be. He is The Great Polarizer.
Now, cooler heads in the senate will prevail upon Obama to accept a compromise which will sucker in some Republicans and be the Democrats way to get the socialist nose of the camel in the tent. The dromedary will inch his way in, and what will start out as a healthcare program for those "below the poverty line," will of course grow into a monstrosity. The Democrats will hail it as a great victory accomplished despite the opposition. Then Obama can do some legacy management as he plans national lawncare.
